Tennis, Fitness and Pools
The Tennis
Center is designed to appeal to players of all levels. With
facilities second to none, our membership includes players whose
"love" of the game is heightened when they play at a first class
tennis club. A total of 18 lighted courts include 16 Har-tru and
two red clay courts and feature a stadium center court. All are
maintained to the highest standards. An underground HydroGrid
watering system ensures even watering for optimal playing
conditions. For player comfort, shaded seating areas and cold water
fountains are available on all courts. A talented group of
professionals provide lessons and league training along with other
club programs and social events.

features an Athletic Center with countless ways to stay fit. The
11,400 square foot fitness center includes the latest machines by
Cybex, rooms for aerobics, pilates, yoga and other classes, steam,
sauna and whirlpool, two heated outdoor pools (one resort and one
Jr. Olympic with eight lap lanes), and massage therapy facilities.
There are also 18 lighted tennis courts, 16 fast-dry and two classic
red clay. Courts are designed for minimal sun interference and
feature the HydroGrid watering system for optimal playing
conditions. There are locker and shower facilities, shaded seating,
a pro shop, and even a deli. The Athletic Center is open seven days
a week and offers a variety of membership plans.
In our aquatic
area there are twice as many ways to get wet with a heated 25-yard,
eight lane Jr. Olympic pool for conditioning and competitive
swimming and a large heated resort pool for socializing with friends
and family. A variety of programs are offered including swim teams,
lessons and water aerobics.

Club
The Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch is an 18-hole daily-fee
Arnold Palmer signature links course that has become a frequent
destination for resident golfers and visitors alike. As beautiful as
it is challenging, the Legacy has received the prestigious four-star

With half of the land at Lakewood Ranch set aside as open or
recreational space, it’s no surprise that our community parks are a
popular focus of neighborhood life enjoyed by all.

Trails
At Lakewood Ranch, pedestrian trails form a network that can take
you from one end of the community to another, often through some of
Florida’s most beautiful and unspoiled natural settings. Residents
can walk, jog, bike or rollerblade from one place to another along
more than 100 miles of connecting trails and sidewalks! The
extensive pedestrian system starts with four-foot sidewalks in each
neighborhood which link to five, eight, and 12-foot sidewalks along
throughways and common areas. Soft trails of mulch or grass leading
to the nature areas, waterways, lakes and preserves connect to the
sidewalk system. Special features such as wooden bridges and
educational signage enhance the trails making every outing a fun as
well as healthy experience
Polo -
Sarasota Polo Club
Lakewood Ranch is home to the Sarasota Polo Club where the best
players from around the globe compete on nine of the finest polo
fields in the world! Come experience the thrill of watching the
“fastest game on four feet” Sundays from December through April.
Become part of the pageantry and excitement of the oldest organized
sport in the world!
The
Sarasota Polo Club's 130 acres of manicured fields, clubhouse and
open air pavilion are also available for both indoor or tented
sporting events, business meetings, weddings, parties and other

Cricket
The Sarasota International Cricket Club, founded in 1983, has a
permanent cricket facility worthy of world class competition at
Lakewood Ranch. As exemplary a place to play as Lakewood Ranch is to
live, the laser-leveled cricket field on University is everything a
professional batter worth his wickets could hope for: ICC-approved
Nott's sport artificial turf with match and practice wickets from
the UK. A full-function Clubhouse provides a focus for tea and
sandwiches between battings!
